Ireland has selected its teams ahead of the R&A Men’s and Women’s Home Internationals in Woodbrook next week, with golfers from County Roscommon earning call-ups to three teams. 

The action takes place at the County Wicklow venue from Tuesday, August 4th to Thursday August, 6th.

County Roscommon golfer Thomas Higgins made the winning putt that sealed victory for Ireland in Estonia, and the he once again earns an international call-up.

Olivia Costello has also earned a call-up to the Women’s Team competing at Woodbrook.

The Roscommon golfer recently extended her lead at the top of the Bridgestone Women’s Order of Merit to 845 points. Costello has a 114 point advantage over Ballinrobe’s Shannon Burke. 

A total of 325 Order of Merit points will be on offer this week to the winner of the AIG Women’s Amateur Close Championship, which got underway at Enniscrone yesterday (Tuesday) and concludes this Friday.

Taughmaconnell golfer Isaac Oliver was part of the Ireland team scooped a Nations Cup win at the Carris Trophy alongside John William Burke (Ballyhaunis) and Adam Fahey (Portmarnock).

Oliver and his victorious teammates have all earned call-ups to the Boys’ team competing at the Home Internationals next week, alongside Carrick-on-Shannon golfer Patrick Martin.
