Roscommon player Ben O’Carroll was the spot-kick hero this evening as his winning penalty in sudden death secured UCD a place in the 2025 Sigerson Cup Final.

It finished all square in Abbotstown after extra time - UCD 1-7, TU Dublin 0-10 - before last year’s Sigerson Cup finalists won 5-4 on penalties.

The St. Brigid’s player, who was a half-time substitute, tucked away the all-important winning penalty in sudden death.

The UCD captain is another Roscommon player, Daire Cregg from Boyle, who kicked 0-2 (one free).

Next Wednesday's final could be a repeat of the 2024 showpiece with last year’s champions, Ulster University, taking on DCU in the second semi-final tomorrow evening.
