Three players who came through the ranks at Creggs RFC are set to appear for the Ireland U-21 women’s rugby team.
Jemima Adams Verling, and Roisin Maher are both included in the starting XV while Síofra Hession is primed to make an appearance off the bench as Ireland U-21s host Italy in the first game of an historic double header.
Adams Verling is set to start in the back row while Maher will pack down in the front row.
The game forms part of a unique double header as Niamh Briggs’ U-21 side host Italy at 2.20 p.m. in Dexcom Stadium before Scott Bemand’s senior team face the Italians at 5.40 p.m. in the home of Connacht Rugby.
Ireland’s senior women’s side last played in Galway back in 2006, when they defeated Canada 15-8, and ticket sales for the first Women’s Six Nations game out West have passed the 7,000 mark.
This year, the U-21 Women’s Six Nations will be played on a home and away basis as is the norm at senior level.
The first two editions of the tournament (2024 and 2025) followed a week-long festival format, with all six teams competing in a single host location.
Saturday’s U-21 match will be streamed live on the Six Nations U20s YouTube channel and IrishRugby+.
The Senior encounter will be broadcast live on Virgin Media One. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
