Roscommon rugby players named in Ireland training squad

Jemima Adams Verling and Aoibheann Reilly have been included in the Ireland squad ahead of the WXV Global Series.

Adams Verling is one of seven uncapped players named in the squad although the Creggs woman was called up to Ireland’s Six Nations squad earlier this year.

She impressed for Connacht during the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championships, most notably crossing for a try during Connacht’s defeat to Munster last weekend.

Meanwhile, Reilly has also stood out for Connacht during their campaign as she grabbed two tries against Leinster.

Ballinasloe’s Beibhinn Parsons has been selected, despite picking up an injury ahead of Connacht's Interprovincial championship campaign.

The squad selection follows a competitive Interprovincial campaign, with players using the provincial competition to stake their claim for inclusion and gain valuable match exposure heading into the international season.
