Two Roscommon schools set to play at Aviva Stadium

The Glanduff NS team that will compete in the FAI Schools Primary 5s National 'A' Cup this Wednesday at the Aviva Stadium.

Two Roscommon schools will get the chance to play at the Aviva Stadium this Wednesday.

Both Glanduff NS and Cornafulla NS will compete for national titles on the hallowed turf.

Glanduff NS will compete in the National ‘A’ Cup alongside Gaelscoil Uí Chéadaigh (Wicklow), Rathmore NS, Baltimore, (Cork) and St. Mary's NS, Threemilehouse, (Monaghan). Each school will play each other once.

The Roscommon school claimed the Connacht title by beating Geesala NS (Mayo), Claran NS (Galway), Ardkeeran NS (Sligo) and St. Callin's Feenagh NS (Leitrim) in a round robin series of games.

Meanwhile in the National ‘B’ Cup, Cornafulla NS will compete against Kentstown NS (Meath), Clonmoney NS (Clare) and Scoil Bhríde, (Monaghan) with each side facing off against each other.

Cornafulla NS claimed the county title by defeating Ballybay NS, Tarmon NS and Summerhill NS in a competitive round robin series of games before going undefeated in their Connacht campaign.

The action commences in the Aviva Stadium at 11.30 a.m this Wednesday.

Teachers/Coaches: Richard Dolan, Sean Glennon.
