Pat Clogher, Ballyglass, Dysart, who passed on to his eternal reward at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, on Saturday, March 9th, was one of South Roscommon's best known private coach operators extending over a number of decades. Aged 81 on May 10th last, he was a native of Ballyglass and returned to reside there in family setting in 1976. In his younger days he was an employee of the Western Health Board at St Brigid's Hospital, Ballinasloe, for upwards of 20 years. Of a friendly and jovial disposition, in his role as a coach driver he showed care and concern for the well-being of all his passengers and will long be remembered by the parents and past pupils of Ballintleva National School for his tact and affability to the students he carried on that school run which he undertook for a number of years. He also brought scores of passengers to bingo venues ranging from Athlone to Ballyleague and back to Athleague for many years and bingo playing alongside his wife Peg was one of his main hobbies. He also enjoyed reading and gardening as hobbies. A part-time farmer, he took a keen interest in all farming affairs and rural affairs generally. In his residential community, he was noted for his sense of neighbourliness, innate decency and integrity. He is survived by his wife, Peg, (nee Hurley, Garbally, Ballinasloe) twin brother, Tom, Garbally Drive, Ballinasloe; brother, Brian, St Brigid's Terrace, Athlone; sister, Mrs Kathleen Coughlan, Woodford, County Galway; nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives. Following Mass of the Resurrection at St Patrick's Church, Dysart, on Tuesday, March 12th, the burial took place in Creagh Cemetery. The celebrant of the Mass was Very Rev. Francis Beirne, PP, Ballyforan, Dysart and Tisrara.
The Roscommon Mobile Library service will visit the SuperValu car park, Monksland, on this Thursday, April 4th, from 11 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and also on Thursday, April 18th, from 1 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.. Library membership is free.
There will be a Holy Hour with Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in St Brigid's Church, Curraghboy, on this Friday, at 7 pm. A big attendance is anticipated.

The death took place on Sunday, March 17th, at the Galway Clinic of Mrs Anne Kelly, Thomastown, Ballydangan. Aged 68, she was the former Ms Anne Duffy, Derrylahan, Moore and her death at a comparatively early age has caused profound shock and immense regret over a wide area. She had been in ill health for some time and she bore her illness with characteristic fortitude. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she was also a most obliging neighbour and trustworthy friend. A religious person, she supported a wide range of community and Church linked activities over the decades and performed innumerable acts of Christian charity with typical self-effacement. She is survived by her husband, Pat, a native of Clonbulia, Ballydangan; daughters, Mrs Karen Greasley, Thomastown; Mrs Edel Shine, Gorry; Mrs Yvonne Whyte, Clonburren; Mrs Patricia Watts, Monivea, Galway; Mrs Fiona Smyth, Creagh, Ballinasloe and sons, James, Creagh, Ballinasloe and Patrick, Thomastown. She was predeceased in recent years by her brother, Willie and is survived by brothers, Mattie, Derrylahan; Joe, Derrylahan, sister, Mrs Mary Sweeney, Earlspark, Ballinasloe, 15 grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Following Mass of the Resurrection at St Brigid's Church, Drum, on Wednesday, March 20th, the burial took place in Drum Cemetery. The celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Michael Hickey, CC, Drum.
The death took place on Wednesday, March 20th, at his residence of Tommie Morris, Newpark, Kiltoom. Aged 86 on January 19th last, he had been in ill health a short time and he bore his illness with characteristic dignity. The deceased was a native of Moyvannion, Kiltoom, and he had resided in family setting at Newpark for over 50 years. He had been in employment with commercial outlets for upwards of 50 years and he was respected for his care and skills as a driver. He drove with the John McManus fuel and vegetable and fruit wholesale firm at Baylough for a number of decades and latterly up until his retirement he was a sales person and driver with Paddy Halligan's wholesale vegetable and fruit business, Drum Road, Summerhill, Athlone. Devoted to his immediate and extended family, he was noted for performing neighbourly deeds in his residential catchment and he was also a reliable friend to many. He took a keen interest in current affairs, political affairs and all farming affairs and was a most engaging conversationalist. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading as his main hobbies and he was also an avid sports enthusiast and follower specifically of Gaelic games generally. He is survived by his wife, Mary, (nee Cunningham, Lisphelim); sons, Sean, Ballymurray, Roscommon; Brendan, Tuam; daughters, Marie, Newpark and Mrs Martha Gavigan, Hollywell, Roscommon. The last surviving member of a family of three boys, he is also survived by two grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Following Mass of the Resurrection at the Church of the Risen Christ, Kiltoom, on Saturday, March 23rd, the burial took place in Kiltoom Cemetery. The celebrant of the Mass was Very Rev. Michael McManus, PP, Kiltoom and Cam.
The death took place on Wednesday, March 20th, at Portiuncula University Hospital, Ballinasloe, of Mrs Margaret Lennon, Carrick Beg, Four Roads. Aged 75 on December 29th last, she had been in ill health for some time and she bore her illness with characteristic resilience. The former Ms Margaret Cunniffe, Coalpits, Creggs, she was attached to the nursing staff of St Brigid's Hospital, Ballinasloe, for a number of decades and she was deservedly popular with her work colleagues and all those with whom she became acquainted. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she performed innumerable neighbourly deeds and kind acts throughout her life. She also supported a number of community and church linked activities and was a member of the altar society at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, Four Roads, over the decades. She espoused Christian values by virtue of everyday example and was an annual visitor to Knock Shrine having made her last visit there in August of last year. A sports enthusiast, she was a follower of St Aidan's GAA and Camogie panels and also the Four Roads Hurling Club sides for many years. She is survived by her husband, Pat; son, Thomas, Carrick Beg, Four Roads; daughters, Mrs Annette Farrell, Cloverhill, Roscommon; Claire, Dublin and Mrs Patricia Coyle, Monksland, Athlone. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs Mary Concannon, Coosan, Athlone; four grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Following Concelebrated Mass at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, Four Roads, on Saturday, March 23rd, the burial took place in Tisrara Cemetery. The celebrants of the Mass were Very Rev. Francis Beirne, PP, Ballyforan, Dysart and Tisrara and Very Rev. Martin Geraghty, a native of Curraghboy and a cousin of the Lennon family.

The death took place at her residence on Friday, March 8th, of Mrs Kathleen Hynes, Drum Road, Summerhill, Athlone. The deceased was the former Ms Kathleen Loughran of Cremartin, Castleblaney, County Monaghan and she worked in Chicago for eight years before taking up residence in the Athlone environs in 1965 on her marriage to the late Thomas Hynes. A devoted family person, she was a lifelong PTAA member and she was a bridge player with the 1972 club for many years. She was a keen gardener and was also a beekeeper back in the eighties and nineties. She also enjoyed her participation in the activities of the Monksland Active Age Group in recent years. A deeply religious person, she was a key player in the revival of the reciting of the Rosary before the commencement of Mass on Sunday mornings in St Brigid's Church, Drum. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 2012 and is survived by one son, Ultan; daughters, Deirdre, Grainne, Clodagh and Niamh. She is also survived by one sister, Teresa; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and a number of other relatives. Following Mass of the Resurrection at St Brigid's Church, Drum, on Monday, March 11th, the burial took place in Drum Cemetery. The celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Michael Hickey,CC, Drum.
