County Roscommon Fly-In to raise funds for children’s cancer charity

Tibohine Flying Club is set to host a number of aircraft this coming weekend and (right) the presentation of last year's fundraising cheque to Childhood Cancer Ireland.
The annual Tibohine Fly-In, a staple in the flying and community calendar, will take place this weekend, Saturday, June 21st & Sunday, June 22nd with all proceeds going to Childhood Cancer Ireland (CCI).
The event, which is run by James Morrisroe and members of Tibohine Flying Club, has raised approximately €56,500 for various local charities over the years.
Speaking about this year’s event, James said: “We are delighted to once again host the annual Fly-In, a fun event which will be raising more funds for Childhood Cancer Ireland. A number of aircraft from around the region will be joining us, weather permitting.” Childhood Cancer Ireland is the national parent and survivor-led charity giving voice to children and young people with cancer, survivors and their families, with a number of families throughout the county having benefited.
Tibohine Airfield is located not far from Frenchpark (adjacent to the old Ballaghaderreen turnoff). Admission for spectators and families is a minimum donation of €5, all of which goes to Childhood Cancer Ireland. There will be a barbecue on both days and lots of fun for all the family over the weekend from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
