A County Roscommon club is proposing that “home teams” provide footballs for league and championship fixtures.
Tulsk Lord Edwards will bring the motion to Friday evening’s Roscommon GAA Convention in an effort to eliminate what it sees as an issue with “missing footballs”.
The club wants the “home team” in league and championship fixtures to provide both competing teams with footballs.
Meanwhile, St. Aidan’s GAA Club will table a motion requesting that the GAA should begin the process of ending all commercial involvement with Allianz Insurance.
The club says that this should happen “in light of the findings of the recent UN report that Allianz Insurance is profiting from the illegal occupation of Palestine”.
Shannon Gaels will be urging Roscommon GAA to carry out a review of the U-20 football championship in an effort to find a suitable slot in the calendar where teams will have at least three games.
Another motion up for debate will see the Northern Board requesting a change in structure to the local club football championships to facilitate the participation of clubs in the divisional championship.
Under the Northern Board’s proposal, the senior football championship would be split into two groups, with each group comprising of six teams, while the intermediate and junior championships would feature four groups, with three teams in each group, and be completed before the knockout stages of the senior football championship get underway.
