It was a good day for Roscommon schools in this year’s Connacht Post Primary Senior B quarter-finals held in the Connacht GAA Centre, Bekan.

The quarter-finals were originally to be played last week, but were postponed due to the inclement weather conditions.

Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown recorded a remarkable 2-11 to 2-9 victory over St. Muredach’s, Ballina after recovering from an 11 point half-time deficit.

The North Roscommon school completed their comeback in the final play of the game when the ball was launched in from a ’45 and found the back of the net.

In the earlier game CBS Roscommon booked their spot in the semi-finals with a 2-6 to 1-3 victory over St. Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurry.
