Roscommon man to lead Masters into battle against Australia

A County Roscommon man will be at the helm when the Ireland Masters Gaelic football team meet their Australian counterparts in 2024.
Anthony Carroll, who is the current Roscommon Masters football manager and chairperson of Kilmore GAA Club, will lead the Ireland Over 50s team into battle against Australia in 2024. Kevin Hourican (Leitrim-Longford), Mark Cannon (Donegal) and Rob Stewart (Cork) are also part of the management team.
Carroll has been in charge of the Roscommon Masters team over the past number of years. The team were beaten in this year's Plate final by Mayo, 1-11 to 0-13, at Enfield in September.
Two test matches featuring Men’s Over 40s, Women’s Over 40s and Men’s Over 50s will take place in Mullagh, County Galway on March 9th and Denn, County Cavan on March 16th. The squads will train at the Connacht GAA Air Dome.
It will be the first time that the International Rules Series has returned since the Covid-19 pandemic.
