WELL DONE: The club would like to congratulate senior club members Katelyn Lynch and Tara O’Brien who were on the ATU team that defeated UCG in the Third Level Colleges’ League semi-final on Thursday last. The club wishes them the best of luck in the final. Congratulations to club player Ciara Dowd who was chosen as one of the All-Stars on the LGFA Senior Championship Team for 2025. The club would also like to congratulate Tara Naughton who was chosen on the Irish Shinty team that played Scotland recently. It was a great honour for Tara to represent her country.
AGM: The club’s AGM will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, in the community centre at 8 p.m.. All players and members over 18 are invited to attend.
LOTTO NEWS: There was no jackpot winner in the recent lotto draw. Two match three winners were Ursula Feely and Ciarán Sheerin. The jackpot stands at €8,100. Play online on the Boyle GAA App or in various outlets locally.
LGFA ALL-STARS: Congratulations to Megan McKeon and Aisling Feely who were both named on the Roscommon LGFA Senior All-Stars Team for 2025. Congratulations also to all the other nominees from Boyle LGFA.
NATIONAL CLUB DRAW: Please support Boyle GAA Club by purchasing tickets for the National Club Draw. Every penny raised through ticket sales goes straight back to the club. There are some fantastic prizes to be won. Tickets can be purchased through the Boyle GAA App or through any club representative.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS FUNDRAISER: Help Boyle GAA, LGFA and Boyle Camogie to support a great cause by donating empty cans and bottles to the Christmas Re-Turn bins located at the Abbey Park. All monies raised will go to Boyle Christmas Lights who do such a fantastic job in lighting up the town for the Christmas period.
LOTTO: There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Lucky dip winners were Eithne McLoughlin, Nicola Devine, Liam Freyne, John Kennedy and Derval Flynn. The jackpot for Friday evening’s draw in Mulvihill’s Bar is €6,400. The club would like to remind everyone that annual lotto tickets are now on sale. For €100 (less than €2 a week), be in with a chance to win the weekly jackpot. Every ticket helps Castlerea St. Kevin’s develop its facilities for everyone and support players from youth to adult levels under the “One Club” model. All the teams represented the club with great distinction, and this culminated with the minors winning the league and championship double for the second successive year.
AGM: This year’s AGM will be held in the clubhouse on December 6th at 6 p.m.. Everyone is welcome.
SCÓR NA NÓG: Elphin GAA Club hosted the county Scór na nÓg finals at a packed Elphin Community Centre on Saturday evening last. Competitors from north and south of the county wowed the audience with their performances. The standard in every category was tremendous. Elphin’s Mick Rock played his part of Fear on Tí brilliantly. Afterwards Roscommon GAA Vice-Chairperson, Tom Murray, thanked Elphin GAA Club and the County Scór Committee, led by Kilmore’s Clare Connellan, for facilitating a tremendous showcase of culture and talent in the county. Elphin took home two titles — Music Group and Set Dancing — and will go on to represent their club and county in Connacht in two weeks’ time. Well done to all the Elphin competitors and to all those who took part. A huge thanks to the parents and members of the Elphin Set Dancing Club who provided refreshments and shop facilities, and stewarded the hall. Special thanks to Seánie Lambert for all his work before and on the night.
AGM: The club’s AGM will take place on Saturday, November 29th, in the Day Care Centre at 7.30 p.m.
GOAL MILE: The Goal Mile takes place on Sunday, December 7th, at 1 p.m. in the Orchard. Registration is from 12.30 p.m..

LGFA ALL-STARS: Well done to Helena Cummins and Sheila Brady who were selected on the Roscommon LGFA Intermediate Team of the Year. Helena was selected as goalkeeper and Sheila was chosen at full-forward. Michael Glaveys had four other nominees — Roisín Hussey and Shauna Fleming in defence, and forwards Collette Keane and Niamh Fleming. The awards were presented at a gala banquet in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon Town, on Friday evening. This was the first ever Team of the Year awards night and it was a great success with over 300 people in attendance.
SCHOOLS’ BLITZ: A very successful schools’ blitz was held in Peadar Earley Memorial Park last week. Children from schools in the parish attended the blitz, which was organised by Roscommon GAA.
U-20 FINAL: Best of luck to the Éire Óg\Michael Glaveys U-20 football team who play Roscommon Gaels in their Division One championship final on Saturday week at 1 p.m..
RETIRED: Former Roscommon ladies’ footballer, Joanne Cregg from Michael Glaveys, has announced her retirement from the Fremantle Dockers AFLW team. Joanne played for three years for the Dockers and was the first Roscommon woman to play professional AFLW.

U-20 FINAL: The Oran/St. Croan’s U-20 footballers play neighbours Kilbride in the county final on Saturday next in Lisnamult at 4 p.m.. The club has never won back-to-back titles at this level. Best wishes to Charlie, Tommy and the panel in their endeavour to make history. Support would be appreciated.
CAMOGIE: The Athlone Chimney Repairs and Billy King Pharmacy junior camogie team were beaten by Westport, 3-22 to 0-8, in their Connacht semi-final in Westport last Saturday. The girls still have the All-Ireland Series to come, with fixture details to be confirmed. These will be shared on social media once known. Thanks to Michael Grenham, Hubert Darcy and Aidan Fallon for their work preparing the pitch to make sure that Pearses could host the fixture after several days of heavy rain last week alongside setting up the function room. Thanks also to everyone who prepared and served the post-match refreshments for the teams.
AGM SEASON: The LGFA AGM took place recently. The camogie, minor and adult hurling AGM takes place on Tuesday, November 18th. The camogie AGM gets underway at 7.15 p.m.. The minor and adult football AGMs will take place on Friday, November 21st, at 8 p.m.. The club AGM will take place on Wednesday, November 26th, at 8 p.m. in the clubhouse. All are welcome to attend these important end-of-year meetings to start planning for 2026.

SCÓR NEWS: Well done to all the club’s Scór na nÓg participants who took part in the county final in Elphin on Saturday evening. Pádraig Pearses had finalists in the recitation, novelty act and quiz categories. Congratulations to Miriam Darcy in recitation/storytelling and the novelty act group — Erin Arru, Aoibhín Seale, Miriam Darcy, Katie Grenham, Katie Killeen, Ailbhe Glynn Desmond, Kate Killeen Lyons and Oisín Murphy — on winning both their categories and capturing two county titles for Pádraig Pearses. The Connacht Scór finals will take place in Loughrea on November 29th. Well done also to the Tráth na gCeist participants who also took part in Saturday evening’s county final. Many thanks to the voluntary coaches who have helped these young people with their roles — Tom Costello, Aisling O’Sullivan, Hubert Darcy, Geraldine Sheeran, Hugh Collins, Mary Darcy and Oisín Seale.
COOKING THROUGH IRISH: Pádraig Pearses GAA Club, in conjunction with Glór na nGael, and The Joe MacDonagh Foundation are holding free Irish cooking classes for club members from secondary school students to all ages. They take place every Thursday evening at 7.30 p.m. between October 23rd to December 4th. Come along and practice your Irish while learning to cook such delights like tea brac, Christmas treats, curry etc. For further information, contact Mary Darcy on 085 7760652.
TRÓCAIRE FUNDRAISER: Tom Corbett, along with fellow Pádraig Pearses singers and musicians, is hosting a Trócaire fundraiser night on Saturday, November 22nd, at 9.30 p.m. in the clubhouse. Please come and support a very worthy cause and enjoy a great night of musical entertainment.
SANTA VISIT: Dadaí na Nollaig will make his annual visit to Woodmount on Saturday, December 6th, at 3 p.m.. Please not change of date.
CÉILÍ: The next Céilí in the clubhouse will take place on Saturday, November 29th, at 9 p.m..
GOAL MILE: The annual Goal Mile returns to Pádraig Pearses this year on Christmas Day from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.. With only 19 such events taking place across Connacht and only three in County Roscommon, the club is indebted to Antoinette Gallagher and her team for continuing to organise this great community event at the club grounds. All are welcome to attend, and make a contribution to Goal on the day.
SOCIAL DANCING: As part of the Pádraig Pearses GAA Healthy Club programme, jiving and social dancing continues on Wednesdays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the next few months. All are welcome.
U-20 FINAL: The last competitive game of the year awaits next weekend when the U-20 footballers play Tulsk in the Division Three final. The game is fixed for Saturday evening next in Strokestown with a 5 p.m. throw-in. Support would be appreciated.
LAST MAN STANDING: Tickets are being circulated for this year’s Last Person Standing, with the usual monster €1,000 prize up for grabs. Entry forms are available locally. LGFA NEWS: As the year ends for the girls, the club acknowledges and thanks the outgoing management team who have stepped down. Gerard, Kyana and Darrell played a big part in the girls’ intermediate success in 2025. Congratulations to the players on the intermediate ladies’ football panel that were honoured at the recent LGFA All-Star awards. While there are brilliant individuals on the team, the strength is, as always, in the collective, and that has been borne out with the results this year.
CONNACHT SEMI-FINAL: Hard luck to the junior men’s football team who were defeated by Kiltimagh in their Connacht semi-final in Ballyforan on Sunday last. The game finished all square, 1-14 to 2-11, after extra time before St. Croan’s lost out 3-2 on penalties. The team and management have enjoyed a great journey this season, winning the county title, securing their intermediate status for next year and providing everyone in the club with great memories.
MCGLYNN CUP: Congratulations to the U-15 combination team that defeated Michael Glaveys/Éire Óg to win McGlynn Cup on Sunday morning. The game finished Oran/St. Croan’s 4-6, Michael Glaveys/Éire Óg 1-9. It was a great way to finish the season.

CONCUSSION TALK: Patrick McGreevy, paramedic, is giving a one-hour talk on concussion on this Wednesday, November 19th, in the Ardcarne Park Complex at 7 p.m.. Patrick is certified to give these talks through the GAA. He recently gave a very in-depth First Aid course to members/players. It is vital that as many people who can attend do so. CELEBRATIONS: St. Michael’s and St. Ronan’s GAA and LGFA is delighted to announce an evening of celebration in honour of the Junior B ladies’ footballers who won a first county title in 2025. The celebration night will take place in Kilronan Castle on Saturday, January 10th, 2026. This special evening will include a three-course dinner, the presentation of medals, and a programme of entertainment befitting this milestone achievement.
