The Glenamaddy Community School First Year girls' team that were crowned FAI Schools B champions earlier on Thursday.

A local secondary school is celebrating another All-Ireland title after its First Year girls’ soccer team blitzed their way to national glory this afternoon (Thursday).

Glenamaddy Community School defeated Coláiste Eamann Rís of Cork, 6-0, in the FAI Schools’ First Year B Girls National Cup Final in Fairview Rangers, Limerick, on Thursday afternoon.

Chloe Gordan opened the scoring for the East Galway school in the 20th minute, and she doubled Glenamaddy’s lead immediately after the restart.

Ruby Maguire stole the show with a second-half hat-trick before captain Aisling Kennedy rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot.

The result capped off a memorable year for Glenamaddy Community School after its minor girls’ team defeated Midleton College, 4-0, in their All-Ireland final last May.
