'A proud Ballaghaderreen man': retired Garda Chief Supt mourned
The late Michael Creaton.
The passing of Michael (Mick) Creaton, retired Chief Superintendent of An Garda Síochána is being deeply mourned.
Mr Creaton, Massabielle, Fr. Russell Road, Limerick and formerly of Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon passed away peacefully on February 1st at St. John’s Hospital.
Many tributes are being paid since his passing. He was described by sympathisers as “a proud Ballaghaderreen man”, “an absolute gentleman” and “a common sense, practical officer who knew what leadership was all about”.
Beloved and devoted husband of the late Bridie (Bridget), Mr Creaton is sadly missed by his children Geraldine, Donal, John and Deirdre. Much loved grandad of Hugh, Ruth, Aimee, Sophie, Steven and Kara. Michael will also be missed by his daughters-in-law, Mary and Trisha, son-in-law Frank, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Tom, Fr. Séan, Fr. James and his sister Peggy.
Reposing at St. Nessan’s Church, Raheen, Limerick today, Wednesday, February 4th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, February 5th at 12 midday followed by burial in Crecora Cemetery.
