Former Roscommon County Manager to launch book of short stories

Former Roscommon County Manager John Tiernan will be launching his new collection of short stories, ‘Tell Tale Townie’, on Tuesday, November 19th in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel at 8 p.m..
The new book features a collection of short stories as an Athlone ‘townie’, and it will be launched by special guest and John’s nephew, comedian Tommy Tiernan.
John, who lives in Kiltoom, describes the book as, “short stories of life with humour and paradoxical twists from a life in Athlone and surrounds.”
The book costs €15, with all proceeds from the book being donated to the UNICEF Gaza/Lebanon Children’s Fund.
The launch is an open invitation event and all are welcome.
