All-Star Enda Smith remains a doubt to face Cavan in Roscommon’s crunch game in Group 2 of the All-Ireland SFC.

The Boyle midfielder limped out of Saturday evening’s two-point defeat against Mayo in the dying moments of the game.

Although the injury isn’t as bad as first feared, Smith is rated as 50/50 to be available for selection on Saturday week.

However, manager Davy Burke doesn’t expect Ben O’Carroll to feature against the Breffni Blues as the St. Brigid’s forward continues to try and shake off the injury that has sidelined him for the bulk of the Rossies’ season.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Smith’s club team-mate from Boyle, Daire Cregg, has met with scouts from Australian Rules outfit, Carlton.

The Irish Examiner claims that Cregg has impressed Carlton amidst a wave of renewed interest by clubs from Down Under in Irish players.
