SENIOR TEAM: The senior camogie team were defeated by Oran, 2-8 to 2-7, in Rockfield on Saturday evening. They are at home to Four Roads on Saturday, September 20th, at 5.30 p.m..
UNDERAGE NEWS: U-8 and U-10 training takes place on Wednesday evening in Athleague at 6.30 p.m.. The final U-8 blitz takes place on Saturday next, September 14th, in Lisnamult at 11 a.m.. The U-10s will be in action on Friday, September 19th (details to be confirmed). Both U-12 teams were defeated last weekend but they showed great determination and fight right up until the final whistle. The girls returned to Athleague Community Centre where they were presented with medals and certificates by members of the senior team. Thank you to the players and management team. The Athleague/Oran U-14 team are through to the county final on October 5th after defeating Tulsk in their semi-final. The U-16 team had a good win over Padraig Pearses in their final group game of the championship.

GAMES: Hard luck to the North Roscommon team who were defeated by Elphin in the preliminary quarter-final of the senior football championship on Sunday. Well done to the Ballinameen representatives on the panel. The Elphin/Ballinameen minor footballers were defeated by St. Dominic’s in the Division Two championship on Wednesday evening. They play Strokestown on Tuesday (this evening) in Strokestown at 7 p.m.
50/50: The monthly 50/50 draw took place on Sunday evening in Wynne’s Bar, Boyle. Congratulations to Anna and Frank Dwyer, Killaraght, who won €2,175. Thanks to Wynne’s for hosting the draw alongside sponsors the Peppermill Restaurant and the Crossbar. The next draw takes place on September 28th in the Crossbar.
DRAW: The draw for the quarter-final of the Junior A championship will take place this weekend after the preliminary quarter-final between St. Brigid’s and St. Ronan’s. The quarter-finals are fixed for the weekend of September 20th/21st.
LOTTO: There was no jackpot winner in last weekend’s lotto draw. Seven match three winners were Sharon Feely, Michaela McDonagh, Barry Simon, Seán Lenehan, Marty Flanagan, John Joe Queenan and Shane Spellman. The jackpot stands at €7,100.
CAMOGIE: Well done to the U-12 Boyle Leopards and Boyle Cheetahs who took part in the U-12 camogie finals in Tulsk on Saturday. The Cheetahs came away with a win against Athleague in their final.
LGFA: The U-16 girls play Clann na nGael in their Division One county semi-final in Johnstown on Tuesday, September 9th, at 6.15 p.m.. The U-19 ladies’ Division Three final against St. Croan’s ended in a draw. Details for the replay have yet to be confirmed.
UNDERAGE NEWS: The U-18 boys play Kilglass/St. Barry’s on September 9th in Kilglass at 7 p.m. and Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in the Abbey Park on Thursday, September 11th at 7 p.m.. The U-14 Division Four boys are up against Pádraig Pearses on September 9th in the Abbey Park at 7 p.m.. The U-14 Division One team meet Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in the Abbey College field on September 11th at 7 p.m..

GAMES: The minor footballers play Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in O’Rourke Park on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.. The U-14 footballers beat St. Dominic’s by 4-10 to 1-11 to reach the county semi-final. Their last group game is away to Kilbride on Thursday at 7 p.m.. Well done to the senior footballers and management who secured their senior championship status with a terrific victory against Western Gaels in Enfield on Sunday (see match report, page 7). Thanks to the players, manager Dara Bruen and his management team for the massive work and time they have invested in the season.
ADULT CHAMPIONSHIPS: Well done to the senior footballers who had a good win against North Roscommon on Sunday last (see page 6 for match report). The quarter-final draw will take place on Wednesday evening. The junior footballers begin their championship campaign away to Pádraig Pearses in Woodmount on Friday evening at 8 p.m..
ROUNDERS: Well done to the ladies’ rounders team on reaching the All-Ireland final. A big thank you to the large number of supporters who made the journey to Meath. It was much appreciated. Next up is the Ulster Provincial Club blitz on Saturday, September 27th, in Monaghan where Elphin will be represented by its ladies and mixed teams. Training continues as normal. New faces are always welcome.
UNDERAGE NEWS: The U-14 footballers earned a hard-fought draw against Pádraig Pearses on a scoreline of 5-5 to 3-11 in Woodmount. Harry Trimble scored two goals in the first half. Rory Lally and Senan Lohan added two more, while Senan Lohan netted his second after the break. The team play Castlerea St. Kevin’s in Kilbride on Thursday at 7 p.m.. The U-16 footballers delivered two standout victories against Elphin/Ballinameen and Strokestown during the week. A 3-14 to 1-9 triumph against Elphin/Ballinameen was followed by a 2-15 to 2-1 success against Strokestown. Mark Naughton led the scoring with 0-9 against Elphin/Ballinameen, while Tomás Lohan added 2-3 in a clinical display. Jack Lally netted the third goal, and Luke Hayes and Dara Kelleher chipped in with a point each. Tomás Lohan was, once again, in top form against Strokestown, scoring 1-6, while Mark Naughton added 1-3. Contributions from Jack Lally, Luke Hayes, Mark Fox, Dara Kelleher, Seán Sexton, and Mark Farrell rounded off a well-balanced scoring effort. The team play Boyle in the Division Two semi-final (details to be confirmed). The minor footballers stormed to a commanding 5-16 to 0-12 victory against Strokestown. The depth of Kilbride’s panel was evident, with impactful substitutions including Anthony Cox and Brendan Tully introduced at half time, and Brian O’Connor and Eoin Kelleher later in the game. The starting 15, led by the two Shallys, Jack Lally, Dara Kelleher, and Tomás Lohan, combined well across the pitch, balancing attacking threat with defensive discipline. They play St. Aidan’s on Tuesday evening, with their place in the semi-finals already assured.
LGFA: Rocky’s Rebels secured their place in the championship semi-finals at the end of the month with a gritty victory against St. Michael’s/St. Ronan’s. Siobhán Martin and Sinead Clabby found the net in the opening half, while Kilbride’s defensive steel illuminated a low-scoring second half. Meanwhile the intermediate ladies enjoyed a comfortable victory against Western Gaels on Sunday morning. Laura McSharry and Fiona Tully contributed 11 goals between them. Best of luck to the U-16 team in their Division 1A semi-final against Michael Glaveys in Enfield on Tuesday at 6.15 p.m.. BACK TO THE FUTURE: The U-16 team from 2000 are hosting an event at the pitch between 1 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on September 20th. Back to the Future will also celebrate the future of the club's youngest members. Many of the 2000 team haven't worn a Kilglass Gaels jersey in 20 years. So, to celebrate the first underage championship brought to the club in 2000, they're getting back together once more for a friendly. Past and present players are invited to join and become part of the opposition — it's sure to be a fun day.

GAMES: The U-11 footballers played really week to defeat Mountbellew. The U-12 footballers made it four wins on the trot with a 5-7 to 1-6 victory against Headford in Williamstown on Sunday morning. The U-17 footballers were defeated by Mountbellew/Moylough, 3-14 to 4-8, in their C championship quarter-final on Sunday. Thanks to Williamstown GAA Club for the use of the facilities.

UNDERAGE NEWS: Well done to the Oran/St. Croan’s U-16 Division Four team who recorded a very impressive win over Clann na nGael in Rockfield on Friday evening. The lads managed to score five goals in a really enjoyable game of football. They are currently third in the group and right in the mix to make the semi-finals. Well done to the Oran/St. Croan’s minor footballers who had an excellent 4-15 to 2-10 win over Kilmore/Shannon Gaels in Ballinameen on Tuesday evening. There were excellent performances all over the pitch, particularly around the middle with Seamus Hussey and Eoin Collins securing a lot of possession to set up Conor Muldoon, who finished brilliantly to score his side’s first goal. The former two combined again, with Hussey putting in a high ball, with Collins flicking the ball to the net. From then on, Oran/Croan’s led for the remainder of the game, with Alan Conroy and substitute Coman Shaughnessy scoring a goal apiece. The second half saw some really good performances, particularly from Ivan Bikoi and Cathal O’Brien in defence, Seamus Hussey and Eoin Collins around the middle, and Alan Conroy and Rory Kelly up front.
OTHER NEWS: The club would like to thank Derek Harrington of Cloverhill Renewables for sponsoring tops for the senior footballers. Please support the charity tractor run in memory of former player Ian Conlon Slieve. Proceeds go to the Jigsaw Project. The run takes place at 2 p.m. on October 12th from Roscommon to Ballintubber.
LÁ NA GCLUB: The Lá na gClub will take place on Saturday next, September 13th, commencing at 11 a.m. with a walk of remembrance on the walking track, which will be led by local piper Paul Rice. There are numerous other events taking place throughout the day and evening. The day is about coming together as a community alongside the promotion of Irish Culture and the Irish Language.
ADULT TEAMS: Best of luck to the Paul Flynn Construction and RossGal Loss Assessors senior footballers against Oran in their SFC preliminary quarter-final against Oran in Kiltoom on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m.. The Killeen's of Togher junior footballers are scheduled to be in action on Friday evening. However, a request had been made to play this game on Friday, September 26th, as the game that was due to be played on that evening against Éire Óg has now been conceded. The TSL Projects Ltd. intermediate ladies’ footballers play Western Gaels on Sunday morning. The M6 Motors sponsored senior hurlers defeated Roscommon Gaels in their championship quarter-final (see match report on page 9). They are back in action on Sunday next in their semi-final against Four Roads in Ballyforan at 4 p.m.. CLUB DEVELOPMENT: Great work has taken place on the club grounds in Croghan over the past few weeks. All the new signage has been installed and looks fantastic. The new Tom Collins sign has been erected on the side of the clubhouse, as well as a new plaque on the wall. The new walkway is almost finished and the LED lighting has been installed. Well done to Milo and his team. New ball stops have been erected following storm damage earlier in the year. Work is also about to begin to erect signage to display the club’s newest team sponsors, as well as a roofed display sign of additional club sponsors. COUNTY CHAMPIONS: Well done to the club’s U-19 girls’ team who defeated St. Dominic’s to secure the Division One title in Kilbride. ADULT LADIES: The club’s intermediate ladies’ footballers registered an important 3-11 to 1-9 victory against St. Croan’s in Enfield. This leaves the girls in the box seat for the semi-finals, with one game to play — a home game against Kilbride next week — in the league phase of the competition.
FUNDRAISER: Cloonfour NS will hold a Quid Games fundraiser, with a view to building an outdoor astro-turf facility at the school. Several club members are taking part, so watch out for their events in the run-up to the main event in late October.

They must wait to find out their opponents in the county semi-final, which is fixed for Saturday, October 4th. The U-12 team prevailed by the narrowest of margins in their A final against Pádraig Pearses. Well done to the team and management. The U-6 camógs ended their year with a Go Games Blitz in Ballyforan. The future is bright for St. Dominic's Camogie.
