A County Roscommon woman joined her Irish players at Everton to pay tribute to one of the country’s greatest sportspeople.
To celebrate Seamus Coleman’s unwavering commitment to Everton FC, the club has released a Seamus Coleman-inspired shamrock jersey ahead of St. Patrick’s Day.
Irish women’s soccer internationals Courtney Brosnan and Heather Payne — the latter hailing from Creagh in South Roscommon — joined Coleman as Everton officially launched the jersey this afternoon.
Donegal native Coleman has enjoyed a 15-year stint at Everton since making his now-famous £60,000 move from Sligo Rovers in 2009.
The warm-up shirt — emblazoned with club captain Coleman's number 23 and a shamrock pattern — signifies his 15-year service, as well as his recent rise to record Premier League appearance maker at the Toffees.
Heather Payne joined Courtney Brosnan at The Toffees ahead of the start of the new season in August.
Payne will receive the 2023 Outstanding Achievement award at the
Sportstar of the Year awards banquet in the Abbey Hotel tomorrow night.
